Guy Thomas visiting Brooklands Museum

Welcome to the Aviation and Automotive Heritage website. It’s great to be able to bring you this dedicated online resource about the amazing extent of British aviation and automotive history. It provides such an exceptional range of visits, experiences, exploration and specialist enjoyment opportunities.

Our mission is to support those in the sector with destinations, collections, events and other experiential opportunities to reach out to more potential visitors and supporters. And of course, to provide information in an interesting form to all those who would like to potentially visit them!

Those behind this site have a background in the heritage field, and are enthusiasts promoting the specialisms of all those who dedicate their time and energies to the aviation and automotive heritage sector.

The site is curated by Guy Thomas, who has a background in all things aeronautical, including flying, renovation, drawing, photography and scale modelling. He is particularly interested in vintage aircraft and their recovery, restoration and return to flight status. Guy has also a love of old cars and motorbikes, and is fascinated by the stories behind Britain’s rich history of manufacturing in both the automotive and aviation sectors.

We are excited to feature as many appropriate aviation and automotive attractions as we can, and are always keen to hear from those who would like to add their attractions, destinations and organisations to the site. Our aim is to constantly expand and enhance the number of visitor attractions and experiences available for visitors.

We strive to introduce you to all sorts of aviation and automotive experiences and pleasures, from museums and collections to airshows and auctions and to help you go and see them too!

Over the coming months, we aim to add additional kinds of content on how you can become involved with conservation, heritage and historical understanding, and sharing your knowledge and expertise, as well as the chance to contribute your own material in words and pictures to make this website even more valuable and interesting to viewers.

We hope you enjoy the site and find it helpful in your search for visit ideas and experiences, and in alerting you to new developments in these two really important areas of enterprise and endeavour – the aviation and automotive heritage and industrial development in the United Kingdom, and the stories that go with it.

We would very much welcome your comments, experiences, suggestions and photographs to help build a really engaged online community.
